Join The Team

The team at Lotus is made up of experienced, passionate professionals who are committed to making sure every child and young person in our care feels safe, respected and truly cared for.

We work hard to create a service and environment where everyone involved feels supported and able to work together to achieve the best possible outcomes and futures for children and young people. At Lotus, we want our carers to reach their full potential and to feel confident, valued and well supported at every step of their fostering journey.

London is home to thousands of children and young people who cannot live with their birth families and need safe, stable, and loving foster homes. Fostering in London with Lotus Foster Care means becoming part of a compassionate community that puts children’s safety, well‑being and sense of belonging at the heart of everything we do.

At Lotus, we work closely with foster carers across Greater London to provide good‑quality care, secure attachments, and real family life for children who need it most.

Who we are?

Lotus Foster Care is an independent fostering provider based in Greater London. Our experienced and passionate team is committed to ensuring every child and young person in our care feels safe, respected and cared about, wherever they live in the capital.

We believe in guidance, integrity, community and trust – working towards building better communities, one foster family at a time. As an independent fostering agency, we partner with local authorities across London to find the right foster homes for children, while providing carers with excellent support, supervision and training.

Why fostering in London matters

London’s diversity is one of its greatest strengths – and that’s reflected in the children and young people who need foster homes. Many are school‑aged or teenagers, some are part of sibling groups, and others may have additional needs or have experienced trauma and instability.

By fostering in London, you help children stay close to their schools, friends and communities, providing vital stability at a time of change. Lotus Foster Care works with carers across Greater London to offer warm, loving homes where children can experience positive family life and secure attachments.

Our commitment to you

At Lotus Foster Care, we know that great foster care starts with well‑supported foster carers. When you foster with us in London, you won’t be facing challenges alone – you’ll be part of a supportive network with help available whenever you need it.

We offer:

  • Monthly one‑to‑one supervision with your dedicated social worker.
  • 24‑hour telephone support so you are never without advice or reassurance.
  • Regular training days tailored to the skills you need to develop.
  • Support groups with other foster carers across London.
  • Support and training for your own children, so fostering feels positive for your whole family.
  • Well‑being days, appreciation events and regular opportunities to give feedback.
  • Generous fostering allowances that recognise the commitment involved.

Ofsted has recognised that Lotus Foster Care provides good‑quality care and positive outcomes, with children developing secure attachments and a strong sense of belonging – one child told inspectors, “The family are like my real family. I feel at home.”

The difference you can make

Fostering in London isn’t just about offering a spare room – it’s about offering time, patience and understanding to children who have experienced difficult situations. As a Lotus foster carer, you can:

  • Help children feel safe and valued in a stable family environment.
  • Support them in education, hobbies and friendships, keeping them connected to their local area.
  • Build secure attachments that give children a strong sense of belonging and self‑worth.
  • Work as part of a professional team to plan for their future, whether that’s returning home, moving to another long‑term placement or preparing for independence.

You don’t need to be perfect – you just need time, empathy and the willingness to work with us to achieve the best possible outcomes for children and young people.

Who can foster in London?

We welcome foster carers from all walks of life across Greater London. You can foster whether you’re single, married or in a partnership, renting or owning your home, working or not, as long as you can provide a safe, stable environment and have the time to care for a child.

In general, you’ll need:

  • To be at least 21 years old.
  • A spare bedroom for a child or young person.
  • Enough time and flexibility to meet a child’s everyday needs.
  • The ability to listen, empathise and stay patient through ups and downs.

During your fostering assessment, we’ll talk through your circumstances, experiences and strengths to see which type of fostering in London might be right for you.
